CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses are part of an overall program of study designed to prepare students to be successful in a rapidly changing workforce and equip them to make informed decisions about future college and career pathways. Students will learn about CTE opportunities in middle school, and begin developing a plan for their high school courses. CTE courses are available starting in 9th grade.
Our Career and Technical Education programs offer students opportunities to earn highly valued industry certifications and to develop a multitude of skills while experiencing a rigorous curriculum with real-world applications. If a student earns a certificate that is on the statewide Gold Standard Career Pathways Industry Certification Articulation Agreement and chooses to pursue the course of study that aligns with that specific certificate, they could earn free college credit.
These programs are a 2-4-year commitment and require students to take and pass multiple courses and assessments. If a student is not interested in pursuing a CTE certification, they may still be able to take the class for a general elective credit. Nursing Assistant (Acute and Long Term Care):

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Health Science career cluster
This course is designed to prepare students for employment as nursing assistants SOC- 31-1014 (Nursing Assistants) in nursing homes, hospitals, or other healthcare facilities. The content includes but is not limited to;

- Safe and efficient work
- Gerontology
- Nutrition
- Pet-facilitated therapy
- Health and safety including;

Culinary Arts:

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in Hospitality & Tourism and provides knowledge of all aspects of the Hospitality & Tourism career cluster.

Power Equipment Technology:
- This career pathway is offered at the Riverview and Tampa Campuses
This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics career cluster.

Digital Media:

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for initial employment in the digital media field in roles such as webpage designers, multimedia content creators, video editors, animators, and presentation developers.
